Members of the “Save Healthworks Committee” send out a plea that members delay making any irreversible decisions regarding their membership at the Pitheavlis site by making long term commitments elsewhere.
Very little time was available to try and reverse the recent decision by Norwich Union to close the facility but in the time available before closure on 30th April we have achieved a lot and our campaign has gained wide publicity and support in the local and national media. We now have a petition with over 3,000 signatures and a further 845 online.
A number of key meetings are taking place with public bodies and a number of interested investors. Much work has gone in to creating a strong business plan to demonstrate the viability of the popular community sports club. Our committee remains optimistic that the relevant authorities will recognise the importance of the Healthworks operation for the provision of sport and leisure in Perth and Kinross and its valuable place in the local community.
